It takes quite some times to absorb the fact the Iman is 1 yr old already - no more a baby, she's now a toddler. How time flies..
On her birthday recently (Saturday), I wished her "happy birthday", I thanked Husband "dah setahun kan kita jadi parents?" and I even requested Husband to thank me too "ckpla terima kasih kat saya sbb lahirkan Iman" teheehee..
Her birthday, I would say was unforgettable one, exactly on the date itself.
The actualy plan was to have a small lunch gathering at home among fmly members. But it was cancelled (last minute) since she was having eye infection at that time. I even made her bday invitation and ordered cupcakes, Husband dealt with caterer to order for nasi briyani (the one who sells nasy briyani near masjid K.Jaya during Friday prayer time, guys who frequent to pray there during Friday prayer might know about this famous nasi briyani).
That morning itself, we picked up the cupcakes (I insisted to proceed with cupcakes but not as much quantity as ordered initially, just thought of enjoying them ourselves). And the excitement of designing them myself (not fully though, just on the wordings and the theme/color). Thanks to her, she did it so nicely! They are just lovely (and tasty too), highly recommended.

We headed to OU to buy clothes for Iman (courtesy of the grandparents, they gave her birthday money) "buat beli baju baru.."
We then had our lunch at I.taliannies. It was spontaneous. We were a bit reluctant (cuak?) of taking out the cupcakes, because some places don't allow any outside food to bring in (kan?). So I asked Husband to ask the staff, "Is it okay if we want to take out the cupcakes? Actually it's my daughter's bday today and we just thought of celebrating it. It's not really a bday cake, just cupcakes..". Surprisingly, the female staff said "Aaahh, it's okay. Sure no problem. Do you want us to put them on a plate nicely? You want candle? You want us to sing bday song for her?" We both were speechless and smiled to each other, "Aaaa....errr....ooo...kaayy..." :)

That was how it happened actually. We didn't really expect it. But it turned out special, simple and sweet (the 3S), at least for us.
Back at home, although the initial plan for lunch is cancelled, everybody came for tea instead. MIL prepared pulut kuning with rendang, SIL bought a small cake from B.aker's C.ottage (we didn't know of this, when we're back from our outing, then only we've found out). And the whole family celebrated her birthday.
But being Iman, I think she was just innocently blur, why people kept wishing her, singing her song etc. At least it was for the parents to remember (and when she's older, we can always show her the pics and the vids of her very 1st birthday..)
